A coffee stamp card campaign rewards customers as they make qualifying purchases. A customer collects stamps toward a target, and completing the card can unlock a defined reward such as a free coffee or another benefit chosen by the business.
The concept is familiar from traditional paper cards, but a digital setup makes the campaign part of a broader loyalty experience. With Letstamp, businesses can configure the number of stamps, card completion period, reward rules, campaign duration and participating branches. Customers can then keep their active stamp cards inside the loyalty experience instead of carrying a physical card.

What is a coffee stamp card campaign?
It is a loyalty campaign in which customers collect a predefined number of stamps and complete a digital card. For example, a coffee shop could create a “Buy 6 coffees, get your next coffee free” campaign.
In Letstamp, the business controls the stamp target, campaign duration, card completion limit, reward configuration and other campaign settings rather than relying on a printed card with fixed rules.
Start with the coffee shop goal, not the stamp number
Before opening the campaign settings, decide what behavior the card should encourage. A stamp campaign can be built around a frequently purchased product, a selected menu category or another purchase routine that makes sense for the business.
The reward should also be clear enough for customers to understand quickly. A straightforward offer such as “Collect 6 stamps and earn a filter coffee reward” is usually easier to communicate than a campaign with several different conditions.
The ideal target depends on the business. A lower target makes the reward feel closer, while a higher target requires more visits before the card is completed. The important point is to balance the number of qualifying purchases with the value of the reward.
How to create a coffee stamp card campaign in Letstamp
Letstamp separates the campaign into general information, stamp settings, reward settings and, when applicable, branch selection. This makes it possible to define both what customers see and how the campaign operates.
1. Name the stamp card
Choose a clear name such as Coffee Card and add short and detailed descriptions explaining how customers earn and complete it.
2. Configure the stamps
Select the stamp icon and color, define the required number of stamps, and decide whether the card must be completed within a certain number of days.
3. Define the reward
Configure the reward title, description, type and expiration period so customers know what they earn after completing the card.
4. Review campaign availability
Set campaign duration and visibility, then configure earning and redeemable branches when branch selection applies to the chosen reward.
1. Write a clear campaign name and description
The first settings define how the stamp card is presented. Letstamp provides fields for a Stamp Card Name, a short description and a detailed description.
For a coffee shop, a practical setup might use “Morning Coffee Card” as the name and “Get 1 free coffee after 6 qualifying coffees” as the short description. The detailed description can then explain eligible products, important conditions and the period in which the campaign is available.
Avoid making the description unnecessarily complicated. Customers should be able to understand what they need to do, what they will receive and any important limitations without having to interpret ambiguous campaign language.
2. Decide how many stamps customers need
In the stamp settings, you can select the campaign's stamp icon, stamp icon color and number of stamps. This is where the basic progression of the coffee card is created.
A six-stamp card, for example, means the customer completes the card after receiving the configured number of stamps. The appropriate target should reflect how frequently customers normally purchase the qualifying product and how valuable the eventual reward is.
Customers can follow their digital stamp card
Once customers participate in the loyalty experience, active stamp cards can be viewed from the stamp cards area. This gives them a digital place to follow their progress rather than relying on a paper card.
For a broader explanation of this experience, read the guide to mobile loyalty cards .
3. Set a card completion time limit when needed
Letstamp allows the business to specify how many days a customer has to complete a stamp card after subscribing to it. The card can also be configured without a completion limit.
This setting should match the campaign objective. A time-limited promotion may need a defined completion period, while an ongoing everyday coffee loyalty card may be more suitable without one. Avoid adding an aggressive deadline simply because the option exists; it should support the intended customer experience.
4. Configure what happens when the card is completed
The Reward Earning Status determines whether completing the stamps automatically adds a reward. If the campaign is intended to produce a coffee reward, the reward option should be configured accordingly.
Letstamp also supports cards without a reward. The feature source identifies these as potentially useful for prepaid usage-right scenarios such as passes, but a conventional coffee loyalty campaign will normally be built around a reward customers receive after completing the required stamps.
5. Define the coffee reward carefully
Reward settings include the reward title, description, reward type and expiration period. This is where a vague promise such as “free coffee” should become a clearly defined benefit.
For example, a campaign might define the reward as “Filter Coffee Reward” and use the description to clarify which drinks are included or excluded. Making these conditions explicit helps staff and customers understand the reward in the same way.
| Setting | Example | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Stamp Card Name | Coffee Card | Gives customers a recognizable campaign name. |
| Number of Stamps | 6 | Defines when the customer completes the card. |
| Reward Title | Filter Coffee Reward | States what the customer receives. |
| Reward Expiration | Business-defined | Determines how long the earned reward remains available. |
| Campaign Expiration | Unlimited or timed | Controls how long the campaign itself remains active. |
Reward Points or a Reward Card?
Letstamp allows the reward attached to the completed stamp card to be provided as Reward Points or as a Reward Card. The best option depends on what should happen after the customer finishes the coffee card.
Reward Points add the specified amount to the customer's points balance. A Reward Card can represent a defined reward, such as a qualifying free product or discount, with its own description and redemption conditions.
If you want to build a separate spending-based points model rather than a stamp-based campaign, see Loyalty Points & Cashback .
6. Choose campaign duration and visibility
A Letstamp stamp card can run as an unlimited campaign until the business manually stops it, or it can be configured as a timed campaign with a campaign end date.
Campaign visibility can also be disabled when you do not want customers to see the campaign. These settings should be checked separately from the card completion limit: one controls the overall campaign period, while the other controls how long an individual user has to finish the card after joining.
7. Configure branches when the reward requires them
When a Reward Card is defined, Letstamp requires branch selection and provides separate earning and redeemable branch lists. This allows the business to determine where the campaign can be earned and where the resulting reward can be used.
Branch selection is not available for Reward Points. This distinction matters for coffee businesses with more than one location, especially when rewards should be limited to particular branches.
How are coffee stamps added at checkout?
Campaign configuration and everyday stamp transactions are separate parts of the workflow. After the stamp card has been created, staff can process customer activity through the Letstamp Partners transaction flow.
The customer presents the transaction code from their phone or the business scans the customer's QR code. Staff can then start a stamp transaction and select the number of stamps for the relevant campaign. Letstamp also supports processing multiple applicable campaigns in one transaction.
Use the customer's transaction code or QR code
The transaction code screen provides the code and QR code used for earning and claiming activity. This gives staff a clear starting point for identifying the customer before processing a stamp or reward transaction.
Once identified, staff can select the stamp transaction and assign the appropriate number of stamps to the relevant campaigns.
How is the coffee reward redeemed?
When a customer has an available reward, staff again start with the customer's transaction code or QR code. In the reward transaction flow, the available rewards can be listed and the appropriate reward selected for redemption.
This keeps stamp earning and reward usage as distinct actions. It also means the campaign description and reward conditions should be specific enough that employees know exactly what may be redeemed.
Coffee stamp card setup checklist
Before publishing the campaign, review the customer-facing offer and the operational settings together.
- Use a short, recognizable stamp card name.
- Explain the qualifying purchase and reward clearly.
- Choose the appropriate number of stamps.
- Decide whether customers have a time limit to complete the card.
- Confirm whether completing the card should add a reward.
- Define the reward title and customer-facing conditions.
- Set the reward expiration period if required.
- Choose an unlimited or timed campaign.
- Review campaign visibility.
- Configure earning and redemption branches when using a Reward Card.
- Make sure employees understand the stamp and reward transaction flows.
How to improve the campaign after launch
A good coffee loyalty campaign should remain easy to understand after the novelty wears off. If customers frequently collect stamps but rarely complete the card, review whether the threshold matches their normal purchase frequency. If completed rewards remain unused, review the reward proposition, description and expiration conditions.
The stamp card can also become one part of a wider loyalty strategy. For example, a coffee shop can use separate campaigns for new customers, birthdays, coupons or referrals when those mechanics serve a different customer objective.
If you are still deciding whether a stamp card is the right loyalty model, the guide What Is a Loyalty Card? explains the broader loyalty-card concept and how it fits into customer retention strategies.
